Fishing Clinic
- Description:
- The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be joining forces to conduct a free fishing clinic for youth at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Crappie Point at Kirwin National Wildlife Refuge. The event is being held in conjunction with the free fishing weekend offered by KDWP across the state. The free fishing weekend allows anyone between the ages of 15 to 64 years old will have the opportunity to fish Kansas waters for free this Saturday and Sunday.

- Description:
- The Ness County American Legion Riders Post 392 will sponsor the 2010 Ness County Old Settlers Poker Run benefiting the Ft. Dodge Kansas Soldiers Home on Saturday, June 5. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Bazine American Legion (west side of town). Rolls, juice, and coffee will be provided by the ALR and the ride will begin at 9:00 a.m. Cost of hand is $10 for one or $25 for 3. Half pot paid out to High and Low hands. - Habitat for Humanity's ReStore facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The store sells used appliances, furniture and leftover building supplies to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County.
The store is located in The Mall next to Fashion Bug. Enter on the west side of the building.

- iQ Academy Kansas invites families to learn more about the school’s open enrollment process and the opportunities available through online education. The school is currently enrolling for the 2010 – 2011 school year. iQ Academy will host an open house on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Residence Inn located at 1212 N. Greenwich in Wichita from 1 – 3 PM.
Staff from iQ Academy Kansas will host the open house, allowing parents and prospective students to ask questions and learn more about the virtual school. Those interested will be able to see a demonstration of how the school operates and what a virtual classroom looks like.
