  Free train rides
Description:
Union Pacific Railroad is offering the rides as an educational opportunity for residents. Kansas Operation Lifesaver will give presentations about grade crossing and pedestrian safety for riders, and the train, with a capacity of 150 people, will have a video camera mounted on the top of the cab. The video will be fed in to monitors in the seating area where riders can see what train crews see as they approach intersections. * Russell: Departure and arrival at Main Street crossing. Depart at 11:15 a.m., travel to Hays, arrive back at 12:15 p.m. * Hays: Departure and arrival between Ash and Fort streets. Depart at 1:30 p.m., travel to Ellis, arrive back at 2:30 p.m. * Ellis: Departure and arrival at Washington Street crossing. Depart at 3:10 p.m., travel to Collyer, arrive back at 4 p.m. * Oakley: Departure and arrival at Union Pacific depot at Freeman Avenue. Depart at 5:45 p.m., travel to Winona, arrive back at 6:45 p.m. * Sharon Springs: Departure and arrival at Main Street crossing. Depart at 8:40 p.m., travel to McAllister, arrive back at 9:45 p.m.

This recreational bowling time is open to men & women over the age of 55. Participants may bowl on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 6:00 pm at Centennial Lanes. The fee for each game is $1.60, which includes shoes. This will be a great time to get out of the house on those hot summer days and have some fun bowling with your friends.
