LOGAN — Kansas Day sponsored by the Phillips County Farm Bureau, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Logan Community Building.
The days activities will include interactive hands-on displays and activities hosted by local citizens as well as other groups such as the FFA chapters from the area will be available. The public is invited to attend this free event and learn more about Kansas and the area history through the various displays. There will be many new and different displays such as clothing and hats from selected periods in the past, Indian artifacts, and a demonstration of Bobbin Lace being made. The Solomon Valley players will be there reenacting Logan and the Logan area and they will be dressed in period clothing. The District 3 Kansas Fur Harvesters association will be displaying their furs. There will also be demonstrations of a milk separator, butter churning, corn meal grinding, wheat and a kitchen demonstration utilizing the items from the other demonstrations. Participants will be able to sample their food creations after the kitchen demonstrations. Model toys and antique dishes will be on display. The youth in all of us will enjoy the games of yesteryear. The activities of the day will hold something for every age group, so come and enjoy.
